Donna Grubisic My formal education was at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo majoring in Ornamental Horticulture. With the knowledge obtained from college and my love of plants I ventured into nursery work and tissue culture. In moving to the Santa Barbara area I had the opportunity for employment at a seed testing lab, Ransom Seed Lab. There I stayed. I learned about seed testing and the world of seeds. In 1994 (Portland, Oregon) I passed the RST exam and became a member of the Society of Commercial Seed Technologists (SCST). After working for 28 years at Ransom Seed Lab I took a big leap to start a co-owned independent seed testing lab with another seed analyst and friend, Myrna Smith. Our new independent seed testing lab, MD Seed Analysis, Inc., will be performing germination and purity tests on vegetables, flowers and herbs. |
